Tools / Turso

Turso is a database platform built on SQLite, designed around running many small isolated databases instead of one large shared one. You can programmatically spin up a database per user, AI agent, or tenant — the site cites customers running over 2 million databases. It ships as an open-source engine you can run locally or on your own servers, plus Turso Cloud, a managed service with provisioning, replication, observability, bring-your-own-cloud deployment on AWS, and per-database encryption with customer-held keys. SDKs are available in TypeScript, Python, Rust, and Go, and embedded replication lets the same database run on a user's device and sync with the cloud for local-first and offline-capable apps. In 2025, Turso announced it is joining Supabase.
Turso's core pitch is a different database architecture: instead of one big shared database per application, you run a fleet of isolated databases — one per user, agent, or tenant. Because it's built on SQLite, each database is lightweight enough that creating thousands or millions of them is cheap to provision and operate.
The platform has two parts:
The homepage lists Superhuman, Mastra, Val Town, Drizzle, Poke, and Spice AI among others. Case studies include Engine Labs (tens of thousands of AI agent teams coordinating through their own databases on a $500/month plan), Adaptive (over 2 million databases, one per app version), and Poke.com (a database provisioned per generated website).
Turso has a pricing page and a free Cloud tier ("Try Cloud free" is the primary signup CTA). Specific plan details aren't in the homepage content — check turso.tech/pricing.
